This course discusses the regulations and standards applicable to special-purpose doors and windows, including fire ratings, acoustical ratings, blast and pressure resistance, bullet resistance, and radio frequency shielding.

Bob’s third-generation experience in designing and manufacturing special-purpose door and window assemblies is behind many of the innovations that continue to lead the special-purpose openings industry today. Krieger is nationally recognized as one of only a handful of premier manufacturers of acoustical doors and windows and one of the top manufacturers of special-purpose doors and windows in the world. In 1988, Krieger was the first manufacturer to break the STC 51 barrier with a 1-3/4" thick door, and in 1992, Krieger achieved an STC rating of 47 on a wood door, the highest at the time. Bob’s experience includes numerous years in special-purpose door and window installation, engineering, and design. He has written numerous articles on the subject and has been published in magazines such as Door Security + Safety, Security Management, and Construction Specifier.
